Shout out to Libraries across the state who allow access to Theater Makers to create public performances in their beautiful spaces. This is the first of many posts in the coming months that highlight available venues for no or low cost to theater makers and playwrights who are looking for spaces where they can present their work. Most libraries are happy to promote events to their local patrons and provide entertainment options to their community in their public spaces so you can expect an engaged audience for your work.
For this article, we are going to take a look at Meriden Public Library. After recent, major renovations, the library has build out beautiful new rooms that are available for public events. The word on the street from theater makers is this is one of the nicest library spaces they have worked in. One of the rooms has a MOVABLE stage that gives a great deal of flexibility in staging.
